Welcome to the second article that explores the highlights of the newest release of WMSv2, the warehouse management system from FDC Solutions. In the first article, we featured new search tools, administrative configuration settings, and user interface updates.

In this article, we dive into the muscle of this release: lightning-fast data processing performance, streamlined Excel management tools, and practical enhancements to your warehouse receiving and shipping workflows. Keep reading to learn what the latest release of WMSv2 brings to your warehouse floor.

High-Speed Data Management and Performance

Handling large data volumes shouldn't slow down your operations. The newest release of WMSv2 introduces significant performance optimizations to keep your background tasks moving fast.

  • Accelerated Downloads and Uploads. WMSv2 now features improved processing speed for heavy-duty data transfers. With the latest release, you’ll notice that Excel exports (for Part Parameters, Part Aliases, and Locations) and uploads for Part Parameters now finish in a fraction of the previous time. Large files that used to take several minutes now process in seconds.

  • Excel Maintenance for Cycle Count Holidays. Managing multi-store holiday schedules is simpler than ever. You can now export holiday records to Excel for quick review or import holiday dates for multiple stores simultaneously using a single spreadsheet upload.

Advanced Warehouse and Receiving Workflows

Precision and ease of use on the warehouse floor directly impact order accuracy and turnaround times. These new workflow enhancements give your personnel clearer visibility and better control.

  • Receive and Sort Location View. The Receive and Sort confirmation screen now displays the precise destination Location right next to the Zone. This improves the workflow for pre-sorting incoming parts by aisle before putaway.

  • AutoStore™ Pick Drop Location. Using the new configuration settings for AutoStore drop locations, AutoStore licenses with picked parts automatically drop to a pre-defined warehouse location the moment the order-complete message is received.

  • Build Putaway License Process. A new inventory option for mobile scanners lets users aggregate inventory from a group of base locations into a single putaway license. This is ideal for transferring parts from Vidmar storage or general bin locations directly into AutoStore.

Custom Branding for Shipping Labels

Your shipping output should match your brand. With the new dealer logo support option, WMSv2 shipping labels can now support your dealer branding. When configured for your company, a clean, black-and-white logo automatically renders at the top of generated shipping labels to ensure crisp, professional branding.
