In the newest release of WMSv2, the warehouse management system from FDC Solutions, we’ve focused heavily on making your day-to-day warehouse workflows faster, cleaner, and more efficient.

Whether you are looking to find specific inventory instantly, tailor your system rules without entering complex codes, or personalize your mobile dashboard, WMSv2 delivers. In this article, we explore the highlights of the new version across search capabilities, configuration controls, and user interface.

Smarter Search and Filter Enhancements

Locating precise records quickly is crucial to keeping warehouse processes moving. WMSv2 now features targeted search fields and advanced filtering across several key management screens.

  • Inventory Advanced Search. Finding specific inventory items is now easier than ever. The Inventory screen features a dedicated Advanced Search that lets you filter by on-hand/allocated quantities, specific zones (i.e., Pick, Putaway, Cycle Count), and five new custom Location Qualifiers.

  • Order Problems Screen Filter. Rather than relying solely on Part Numbers, supervisors can now filter problem records directly by Order Number. This makes troubleshooting blocked or flagged orders significantly faster.

  • Expanded Zone Filters. The Zones management screen now supports combined filtering by Zone Description, Zone Group, and a new Prime selector (allowing choices for Prime, Bulk, or Prime & Bulk).

Dynamic Configuration and System Settings

In the newest version, WMSv2 administrators gain greater authority and accuracy when setting up system-wide and store-level rules.

  • Miscellaneous Configuration Dropdowns replace manual text entry with intuitive single- and multi-select dropdowns (e.g., printers, order types, reason codes), dramatically reducing entry errors.

  • A new Order Escalation Field adds an "Elapsed Time" criterion to automatically boost an order's priority level based on how long it has been waiting in Pick Planning.

  • The Already Staged Dialog Control introduces a store-level toggle that allows administrators to choose whether to prompt users with a confirmation dialog when moving an already-staged license or suppress it for faster throughput.

Fresh User Interface and Mobile Usability Improvements

The latest version of WMSv2 brings a sleek, modern look to the desktop and unprecedented customization to mobile scanner screens.

  • Mobile Scanner Favorites Menu. Warehouse personnel can now personalize the mobile dashboard by pinning frequently used workflows (e.g., Picking, Packing, Staging) directly to the main dashboard via the new "Add to Favorites" action, or let administrators configure their favorites.

  • Smarter User Interface Styling. Users who access WMSv2 via a desktop web browser will enjoy a cleaner interface with highlighted column headings, compact action buttons to optimize the utilization of screen space, and customizable color themes, including Light/Dark modes and color palette options. The new version also preserves your selection across new browser tabs when switching stores.
