FDC Solutions is dedicated to providing users with unparalleled transparency into the package lifecycle. The latest K*Track updates deliver this transparency through more granular data capture and modernized display options.

Weight & Description Capture

K*Track now has dedicated fields for capturing the weights and descriptions of outbound packages.

  • The Importance: Accurate dimensional and descriptive data is foundational to proper manifesting, calculating costs, and ensuring compliance with carrier requirements. Capturing this data at the point of processing ensures data integrity from the start.

  • The Benefit: By integrating weight and description capture directly into the workflow, users gain better cost control and billing accuracy, reducing disputes and administrative overhead. This also prepares the data for advanced reporting and analysis of package characteristics.

Granular Event Tracking

Specific new event types—Loaded, Unloaded, and Moved—have been created in K*Track and are now recorded in data extractions.

  • The Importance: The journey of a package involves many steps between scanning and final delivery. Simply tracking "In Transit" or "Processed" can obscure critical transition points. These new event types provide minute-by-minute visibility into specific logistics actions, such as when a package is placed onto a vehicle, taken off a vehicle, or repositioned within a warehouse.

  • The Benefit: This granular tracking eliminates blind spots in the package lifecycle, offering a clear audit trail for every action. If a package is misplaced or delayed, the exact moment and last known status (e.g., "Loaded" onto the wrong truck) can be identified instantly, allowing for quicker issue resolution and greater operational accountability.

Proof of Delivery Enhancements

Multiple improvements have been made to the Proof of Delivery (POD) process. A dedicated POD column has been added to the K*Track Package Manager grid, featuring clickable image hyperlinks for immediate access. The POD popup has been enhanced to display both counter delivery PDFs and captured images. A new K*Track function also allows users to email PODs, including resized image attachments, directly from the context menu.

  • The Importance: Proof of Delivery is the ultimate confirmation of service. Fast, reliable access to PODs is crucial for customer service, dispute resolution, and internal auditing.

  • The Benefit: These enhancements streamline the entire POD workflow. K*Track users can now instantly see if a POD exists in the main grid, view comprehensive delivery evidence (images and PDFs) in one place, and share the proof with stakeholders effortlessly via the context menu. This significantly reduces customer service time.

Archive Search

The K*Track development team has added a checkbox feature within K*Track Free that allows users to seamlessly query archived data alongside live data.

  • The Importance: As historical data accumulates, moving it to an archive helps maintain system performance. However, searching through old records for auditing or historical analysis often meant switching systems or running complex, slow queries.

  • The Benefit: This feature makes historical data immediately accessible within the familiar K*Track interface. Users of K*Track Free can now perform comprehensive, long-term searches without sacrificing system speed, enabling more thorough audits and retrospective analysis of shipping trends.
